Marilou Cook
Marilou Cook
July 20, 1950 ‐ July 24, 2020

Marilou Cook passed away 7-24-2020. She was the loving daughter of
Thomas C. and Mildred (Brotz) Cook. Her 70th birthday was 7-20-2020. She is survived by many cousins and friends.
Marilou was a long-time member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She and her mother also volunteered for many other church duties, including preparing meals for a wide variety of events.
She was also a member of the Masonic International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, a youth service organization. She continued helping the group in many capacities throughout the years.
Marilou enjoyed doing crafts. An expert at needlepoint, she made extraordinary Christmas ornaments, which she gave to her family and friends. This was a tradition she continued for decades. Her home-made gifts were treasured by all.
Her home was Bloom at Lakewood, Assisted Living, where she received excellent care. She had many friends there.
The family would like to thank all ofMarilou’s friends who made her life happy because of the many kindnesses they showed her and the love they blessed her with.
A Celebration of Life service for Marilou will take place at a later, and safer, time.

It was an honor for me to visit Marilou each Sunday after she took up residence at The Bloom. The biggest part of her life was serving Lakewood United Methodist Church in many capacities and her memory will live on. Bless you, Marilou, your soul is now with family and loved ones who have passed. No more worries. My blessings to her surviving siblings.

Miss Marilou, as my sons called her, was always a fixture in the Sunday school wing and during VBS at LUMC.
She will be so very much missed, but the strong memories we have of her and her mom will always remind us of good times had with her.
